Dr. Aws Shawkat Hamid is Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Cardiothoracic Division/Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine, and has honored the American Board in Radiology. Dr. Hamid graduated from the University of Mosul College of Medicine in Iraq/2007. He earned a High Speciality Degree in diagnostic and interventional radiology and the Arab Board of Radiology upon completion of the residency program at Jordan University of Science and Technology. Dr. Hamid subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging, at the University of Michigan, followed by fellowship in body imaging and oncology body imaging fellowship at the University of Missouri Columbia. He has more than 35 peer reviews, scientific researches, book chapter, and invited speaker. He has been awarded several Merits and Cum-Laud awards. He is a vice chair of Electronic Communication Committee at North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. Dr. Hamid is a reviewer and editorial in several American Journals as well as Al-Anbar Medical Journal.
Dr. Hamid is lending special focus on clinical care and education in thoracic imaging and advanced cardiovascular CT and MR imaging. His main research interest in advanced aortic and cardiac imaging.
